[email protected] has closed the border at San Ysidro. No cars are being let in to the US from Mexico. People walking are only being allowed to cross at the West side facility. CBP says it's to put more "hardening measures" in place. @10News

1 year agoThis is the scenario in one of the 7 hostels in Mexicali in which they have divided 1,300 migrants. For the first time, they are not all together. Yesterday, 80% approved to leave today at 05.00 hours to Tijuana, but that exit never occurred and there are no signs of it occurring.

1 year agoCentral American migrants and refugees continue to arrive on foot and in buses to the Benito Juárez sports complex in Tijuana, Mexico. The first pic shows the border literally down the block from the entrance. It's 10 federal police, a fence, a highway, and the US border fence.
[email protected] accessed an anti-Caravan WhatsApp group in Tijuana. Members suggested using Molotov cocktails and burning down shelters, and compared Hondurans "gonorrhea." Others suggested delivering pizza and hamburgers filled with pesticide to migrants.

1 year agoAnti- migrant protests are still happening down at the beach by the border. The crowd says they want them out of Tijuana and the migrants that remain at the beach say they want to stay. Two busloads have gone to shelters. Crowd singing Mexican anthem.

1 year agoAt El Chaparral port of entry in Tijuana, Mexican immigration officials say 90 people will be allowed to make asylum claims today. People cheer; some 25 were allowed Monday, around 60 yesterday, we hear. Meanwhile, 370 more members of migrant caravan arrived in TJ this morning.
1 year agoThe caravan is already in Tijuana. A contingent of around 700 Central American migrants crossed yesterday through Ixtlán del Río, Nayarit, arriving at Concha Escuinapa, Sinaloa, where they received humanitarian aid and were taken by bus to Navojoa, Sonora.
